For years, the future of Newberries Car Park was uncertain.
Residents repeatedly raised concerns about what would happen to this important community asset, while local businesses recognised the vital role it plays in supporting Radlett's High Street and providing convenient parking for shoppers, commuters and visitors.
Throughout that time, Cllr Caroline Clapper consistently campaigned to secure the future of the car park, arguing that it should be protected and improved for the benefit of the local community.
That campaign has now reached another important milestone.
Following Hertsmere Borough Council's recent announcement, made by Council Leader Jeremy Newmark, confirming that Newberries Car Park will be retained and improved, work is now due to begin on the next phase of the project.
From 3rd August, contractors will begin installing new Electric Vehicle charging bays, before carrying out a full resurfacing of the car park in early September.

Commenting on the latest update, Cllr Caroline Clapper said she was delighted that, following the decision to retain and improve Newberries Car Park, residents could now see work progressing on site.
After years of uncertainty, this is welcome news for Radlett.
