How Reform UK Hertsmere collects, uses and protects personal information.
Last reviewed: 14 August 2026
Who we are
Reform UK Hertsmere is an approved local branch of Reform UK. For the personal information described on this website, Reform UK Hertsmere is responsible for deciding why and how it is used unless a survey or linked service clearly names a different controller.
Information we collect
- Contact information and anything you include when you email us or ask us to respond.
- Answers you choose to provide through a survey. Each survey should explain whether it collects names, contact details or anonymous responses before you submit it.
- Limited technical information processed by our hosting and content-delivery providers to deliver and secure the website, such as request logs, device information and IP addresses.
- Your saved external-content choices, stored in your browser so the website can remember whether to load optional services.
Why we use information
We use information to answer enquiries, understand local priorities, administer surveys, operate and secure the website, keep appropriate records and meet legal obligations. Our usual lawful bases are legitimate interests in running the branch and responding to residents, consent where you choose to load optional external content, and legal obligation where the law requires processing. A survey may provide more specific information.
Political opinions and other sensitive information
Political opinions are special-category personal data when they can be connected to an individual. Where a survey asks for identifiable political opinions, the survey must explain the applicable Article 9 condition before collection. We will not use survey contact details for political marketing unless the person has separately and specifically agreed to receive it.
Who information may be shared with
We use service providers including our website host, Sanity for website content, Microsoft Forms for surveys, and Elfsight for an optional social feed. Microsoft Forms and Elfsight do not load through this website until you choose to load them. Information may also be shared with authorised Reform UK personnel where necessary for the stated purpose, professional advisers, or public authorities where required by law.
Some suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we require an applicable legal transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards from the responsible supplier.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose collected, to resolve related enquiries, and to meet legal, accounting or campaign-record obligations. Survey owners must set and document a review or deletion date appropriate to that survey. Hosting security logs follow the provider's limited operational retention schedule. Browser consent choices remain on your device until you clear them.
Your rights
Depending on the processing, you may have rights to access, correct or erase information, restrict its use, object to processing, receive portable information, and withdraw consent. The right to object to direct marketing is absolute. Contact us through the Contact page to exercise a right. We may need to verify your identity.
If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
